Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
- How do you handle orders ?
That depends on the ways of ordering and payment. We have to adjust ourselves
to the procedures of ABEbooks, AntiQbook and ZVAB/ChooseBooks. But generally
it will be like this:
- Through one of the above mentioned organisations or directly from you
we hear what you are interested in, and also your name, address etc.
- We tell you whether the book is still available, how we want to ship it,
and what the total costs are, shipment included.
- If and when you agree, you send us a confirmation,
and you take care of payment.
- We send you the book.
- Why do you sometimes show two prices for a book ?
Preparing books for shipment and delivering them at the post office
is a lot of work. We cannot sell and send the less expensive books for the same
price that we sell them for in the shop. That is why we have a two-price system.
If you see in our catalogues books with two prices, you pay the higher one
if we have to send you this book only. If you order more books at the same time,
or if you come to our shop, you allways pay the lower price.
- Please show the Value Added Tax (VAT) on the bill.
Prices include VAT, but due to the
EU-VAT regulations for used goods, it cannot be specified (nor deducted
by non-EU-residents or EU-residents with VAT registration).
- Are shipment costs included in the price ?
Shipment costs are not included in the price of books,
because they depend too much on the destination, weight, and quality/kind
of postal service.
More expensive items will be insured or registered, unless you explicitly
declare to have them sent at your own risk.
Surface mail for single items has virtually been abolished,
and is only feasible for parcels over 5 kilos - outside Europe.
- Is it possible to have books set aside ?
That depends. Ordered and payed books will not be sold to other clients.
If payment doesn't come, the order and the reservation will be cancelled.
If you say you will come round for and pay the book yourself,
the book will be reserved during the agreed number of days.
Also when your buying decision depends om some specific characteristics,
we can keep the book a fixed number of days.
Simple inquiries do not lead to a reservation.
- What condition are the books in ?
All books are in a reasonable second hand condition, unless otherwise
stated. Smaller defects are not always mentioned.
We may send you a photograph.
- How do you handle complaints and returns ?
Send all complaints within one week after reception of the books.
Books that do not meet expectations may be returned within this
same week, at your cost. Upon safe receipt, we'll refund you
the amount paid for the book(s), not the shipment costs we made.
Of course, if we made some mistake, we'll refund you the
total amount, and we will pay for the return shipment (if we still
want the book back, please contact us before returning).
